Returns / Exchange Policy

RETURNS POLICY

Our policy lasts 7 days. If 7 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Returns are subject to a 25% re-stocking fee, depending with the stock type and condition of the stock and stock must also be in the original packaging. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Goods, such as Used Batteries; Used Borehole Pump; Used Inverter, Used Fridge and Software; and other items cannot be returned. Please refer to the product page for more info on non-refundable items.

What to do if your product is unwanted

If you wish to return stock no longer wanted, you can start the process by contacting the returns department or sales within 7 working days from receipt of delivery and the product(s) is returned within 7 days of receipt of delivery.

Returns are subject to a 25% re-stocking fee and customers will be required to arrange their own return delivery. Customers may be eligible for a 75% credit note back to their Solar Smart Technology account of the product value if we are notified within 7 days from delivery, all original packaging is in place and the item is in re-saleable and fully functioning condition. Unfortunately, we cannot refund any delivery charges or priority, express or courier components of the original postage.

To complete your return, we require an invoice number or proof of purchase.
You can lodge a return via the “Refund / Warranty Request”
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
Please note that if your item has been opened; is not in its original packaging; has content missing/damaged; we reserve the right to deny a refund on said product or charge a handling fee (determined upon inspection of product) at our discretion.

Refunds (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)

Items which have been purchased on sale and deemed fit to be refunded, will be refunded on the sale price of the same item and not the current market price.

Exchanges (if applicable)

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all packaging is intact, all items of the box are properly included, items are packaged correctly and returned unused. Failure to do so may incur additional costs or goods being sent back to you. Please ensure you send all original parts. Solar Smart Technology will not credit any unwanted stock that
has accessories missing or parts / packaging damaged from the products originally shipped.

If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at info@solarsmarttechnology.co.za Returns of items with damage to any barcode, serial number or identification number will not be accepted. You can lodge a return via the “Refund / Warranty Request”

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be emailed to you. If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

Shipping

To return your product, you should courier your product to the address as stipulated in the email received by our support team. You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over R2000, you should consider using a trackable courier service or purchasing courier insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Warranty

All warranties are covered by the manufacturers themselves and dealt with in the same way as if this item is purchased from an authorized retail outlet. No Warranty from damage from natural disaster No Warranty if the serial number label is missing, damaged or tampered with.
All warranties are with the manufactures / distributors of the products and is not with Solar Smart Technology (Pty) Ltd. All goods sold by Solar Smart Technology (Pty) Ltd carry a minimum of 1-year Carry-in warranty with the manufacturer’s Solar Smart Technology (Pty) Ltd will repair, replace or refund any product deemed to be faulty if reported within 7 days after acceptance of goods

Manufacturers must be contacted directly for warranty queries after 7 days of acceptance of goods. Customers who wish to make a warranty claim must comply with the manufacturer’s instructions and warranty procedures.

This warranty only applies where the products have been installed properly by a certified and licensed Including Electrical Certificate of Compliance COC professional.


1. Warranty Terms

The Company warrants all Goods to be free from defects in material or workmanship under normal use and service for a period of 3 to 5 years depending on the product model from the date of sale to the Customer. Sales made prior to this date
have a standard 2 year warranty. The Warranty covers the cost of unit repair or replacement parts. The Goods must be returned to the Company for inspection. The company may repair or replace faulty components at its discretion. This warranty extends the Customer’s statutory rights and cannot be construed so as to diminish such statutory rights.

2. Warranty Limitations

The Warranty is valid only for Goods purchased either directly from the Company or from an
authorized reseller of the company. The Warranty is not transferable and applies to brand new Goods only. Defective parts replaced under Warranty become the property of the Company. The warranty is only honoured when the batteries being used are approved for use by The Company (check for latest battery compatibility list before installation).

The Warranty does not cover:

(a) Access, labour or transport costs.
(b) Consequential damages including but not limited to loss of revenue.
(c) Claims by third parties other than the Customer;.
(d) Defects of installation. (Except where the installation is performed by the Company);.
(e) Goods damaged as a consequence of incorrect installation. (Except where the installation is performed by the Company);.
(f) Items ancillary to installation not supplied by the Company;.
(g) Duties, import/export fees or costs and other general administrative costs;.
(h) Damage to Goods caused by misuse, improper handling or unauthorized modification;.
(i) Loss or damage occurring whilst in transit;.
(j) Accidental or willful damage;.
(k) Any Goods described in a quotation or delivery note as ‘ex-display’ or ‘reconditioned’. (A separate Warranty
extension may have been issued to cover such Goods.)
(h) Damage to goods caused by misuse, improper handling, lightning or unauthorized modification/opening of unit. Labour, travel and delivery (to and from customer) will be charged if goods returned found to be not faulty following a warranty claim.

3. Warranty Claims Procedure  

To make a warranty claim the following information needs to be provided:
• Completed RMA form
• CoC of Installation and/or MCS installation certificate
• Product Model (i.e. KODAK Off Grid Inverter, OG 5.48) and Product Serial Number (ie. 36101010101) Including other models or products.
• Copy of the invoice for the inverter

Failing to provide any of the above information could result in the product having its warranty voided. The authorised reseller us will liaise with the Company regarding repair or replacement. The cost of unit repair or provision of replacement unit will be borne by the Company provided the Warranty has been validated and the Warranty period has not expired. Where repairs must be affected at the Company’s headquarters, the Company will endeavour to minimize the down time for the Goods.
